A weekend house built around a single, century-old maritime pine. The plan steps in two directions to leave the existing root system untouched, and the elevation is held low so the canopy still reads as the dominant element from the road.
Walls are load-bearing local limestone, finished externally with a hand-troweled lime render. Inside, polished concrete floors and oiled larch joinery reference the building traditions of the surrounding villages without quoting them directly.
